It was another amazing performance for the Fox Downhill team this weekend. Laurie Greenland claimed his first World Cup victory in Val di Sole as he lead a Fox Racing 1-2-3 sweep on the legendary Black Snake!

Laurie Greenland Highlights (First place)

Laurie Greenland laid down an incredible run on the legendary Black Snake Track to take his first-ever UCI Downhill World Cup victory at Val Di Sole. Greenland’s run bested fellow Fox riders Loic Bruni and Loris Vergier by nearly three seconds. It was a spectacular victory for the British rider. An excited Greenland stated later, “It means everything man, it’s literally what I’ve been working for my entire life...” Laurie has been challenging for victories all season but hadn't put together the perfect run until today. His win breaks the French stranglehold on the top step of the podium - the first time a non-French rider has won in almost a year.

Loic Bruni Highlights (Second place)

Defending World Champion - and current World Cup Leader - Loic Bruni has been the epitome of consistency this season. Making the podium in every race gives him a 130-point lead over his competitors - a situation he’s not familiar with. When asked if he feels confident, he responded, “Yes and no, I’m in a good position because I have a little gap, but it’s still nothing. You can lose it in one weekend...I’ll try to keep the momentum as long as possible...” This weekend Loic was at the heart of the battle with another smooth, fast, and calculated run. He felt good about his performance but knew he had a little more speed available. Next weekend, in Lenzerheide, should be a more comfortable race for Loic; it suits his riding style and is the track he won the 2018 World Championship.

Loris Vergier Highlights (Third place)

Coming off a rough race in Les Gets, Loris looked rested and ready to tackle the Black Snake. He put down a furious run, clocking a time which many spectators thought would be the top time of the day. Loris was smooth his entire run except for one off-camera issue. He later explained, "It was so fast, and then I just messed up a bit.” This is Loris' fourth podium in six races and moves him up to fourth place in the overall standings.

Finn Iles Highlights (17th place)

After two frustrating performances (in rounds four and five), Finn Iles got back on track in Val Di Sole with his second top 20 finish of the season. While it was a big step in the right direction, Finn was not satisfied with his performance and he stated as such on his Instagram page, “Seventeenth isn’t where I wanted to finish, but I’m now 15th overall and excited to be able to build off this into next race.” He’ll have that chance this coming weekend.

This coming weekend, the Downhill World Cup series returns to the picturesque region of Lenzerheide, Switzerland. One of the fastest courses in the series, the 2.2-kilometer straight-line track features the iconic Cornèrcard Rock Garden, multiple road gaps, and the legendary Lenzerheide Edge. Riders will need to check their speed throughout the race to ensure they stay on the track to the finish. With only two more World Cup races, the contenders will need to perform well in Switzerland to stay competitive in the overall series race.
