WESS 2018 Kick Off

FOX Off-Road Athletes Taddy Blazusiak & Manuel Lettenbichler set to take on the ultimate challenge in the inaugural 2018 World Enduro Super Series

In 2018, the all-new World Enduro Super Series, aka "WESS," will aim to answer the age-old question of "Who is the best Off-Road rider in the world?" For the first time in off-road motorcycle racing history, this groundbreaking series will combine multiple racing disciplines including Hard Enduro, Classic Enduro, Cross-Country and Beach Racing into one ultimate championship. The series will take a uniformed points system to 7 of the world’s most well established and supported enduro events, maintaining the unique spirit and regulations of each race. Riders are free to compete on their preferred size of motorcycle, and entry to all events is open to both Amateur & Professional racers.

With a series of this magnitude being established, our recently retired off-road legend Taddy Blazusiak has elected to return to racing with his eyes on the WESS title. Polish born Blazusiak hung up his boots back in December of 2016, after winning his final Super Enduro on home soil in Krakow. Being the most decorated off-road rider of all time with 6 FIM Super Enduro Championships, 5 AMA EnduroCross Championships, 4 X-Games Moto-X Enduro Gold Medals, and 5 wins at the Erzberg Rodeo, Blazusiak could not just sit idly by as the WESS gets rolling in 2018. Taddy is arguably more inspired and focused than ever thanks to the new level of competition set forth by WESS, and he is a definite favorite to take the championship.

“I’m super stoked about the WESS Series, and it’s a huge inspiration for me to make my return to racing. This is the type of championship that I’ve always dreamed about, and I’ve never been more focused than I am right now. Preparations have been going great and I’m feeling really comfortable on the bike. Time to go racing!” – Taddy Blazusiak

Joining Blazusiak in the WESS is fellow FOX off-road athlete, Manuel Lettenbichler. At only 19 years old, German born Lettenbichler is surely one of the rising stars in the off-road scene. His aggressive and varied riding style will serve as a big advantage across the different categories of racing that the series will offer.

“I’m really excited going into the WESS series. It’s going to be a busy race season with lots of events ahead of us. I think it’s a big motivation for myself with all of the new races we’ll be doing, like the Red Bull Knockout beach race. It’s a good chance for me to show what I’m capable of in all of the different types of riding. I’m all fired up for Portugal as I just returned from a warm-up event in the Dominican Replublic called the Machete Hard Enduro where I took 3rd.”
