2020 DAYTONA SUPERCROSS HIGHLIGHTS

Daytona is one of the most storied racetracks in the world. As the longest continuous Supercross race in America, it’s an event with countless historic moments. This year, more pages were added to the history books with Eli Tomac winning Daytona for the fourth time, and Fox Racing’s own Garrett Marchbanks taking his first career 250 win. Marchbanks joins Travis Pastrana and Marvin Musquin as first-time 250 winners at Daytona.

Jordon Smith

In the Main, Jordon Smith got a good jump out of the gate. Following Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki teammate Marchbanks, he made his way to the front. A few turns later, he would collide with another rider and was forced to retire from the race.

Garrett Marchbanks

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Garrett Marchbanks grabbed the lead in lap one and never looked back. Riding incredibly strong out front, there was nothing anyone could do to catch him. This victory marks his first-ever career 250 win.

Chase Sexton

Geico Honda’s Chase Sexton battled to a podium finish but was unable to reel in race leader Garrett Marchbanks. His second-place finish extends his overall points lead heading to Indianapolis.

Jeremy Martin

Geico Honda’s Jeremy Martin led early before getting tangled up with another rider and surrendering the lead to Garrett Marchbanks. Finding himself in eighth, he was able to stay in the fight and battle back to finished third.

Jo Shimoda

The main did not go smoothly for Geico Honda’s Jo Shimoda. On lap one, he was held up as a crash developed in front of him, blocking his path. Buried in the pack but remaining focused, he was able to fight his way back to seventh.

Ken Roczen

In the main, Ken wasted no time, quickly taking the lead on the first lap. The Honda pilot looked ready to secure his fourth win of the year - rapidly opening an eight-second gap on the field. As the race continued, Eli Tomac slowly reeled in Roczen, second by second. Tomac eventually caught him, and the two battled. Laps later, Ken would make a mistake in an off-camber turn, giving Tomac the opening he needed to take the lead. The German pilot would mount a counter-attack finishing second by .707.

Chad Reed

The three-time Daytona winner, Chad Reed, said farewell to the Daytona crowd as he continues his One Last Ride Tour. "Today was the most fun I had, kind of mid-race. I love Daytona.", said Chad Reed, following the race.
