KEN ROCZEN WINS RED BULL STRAIGHT RHYTHM

This past weekend saw the return of Red Bull Straight Rhythm to the Pomona Fairplex. The 2 stroke theme turned out to be a huge hit for the fans. A packed, sold-out crowd turned out to see today's stars riding classic 2 stroke motorcycles and kitted in period-correct racewear. Ken would steal the show with a stunning set of Jeremy McGrath replica Fox racewear and pristine Honda CR250. The attention to detail from the Fox design staff to ensure Ken Roczen was best dressed did not go unnoticed. Industry insiders and fans alike were giving prize all weekend!

Kenny worked diligently during the day to get his '90s McGrath replica CR250 ready for the evening event. He specifically worked on getting the bike to work in the final set of whoops leading to the finish line. In the last practice session, he said he was able to carry fourth gear through the whoops with the goal of getting the bike to pull all the way through rather than having the power flatten out in third gear. This would pay huge dividends in the evening races.

As the night went on, Ken was able to click off wins. He would scrub and blitz the whoops to get the job done.

The final bracket would see Ken face Brandon Hartranft - a relatively unknown rider on a TLD KTM. In a best of three format, Ken would take the first run decisively. Run two would see Hartranft even with Ken coming into the final whoops. Ken dug deep and pinned it through the whoops to take a dramatic win.
