2019 Mini O'S

2019 Mini O'S

The 48th Annual Winter Olympics at Gatorback MX kicked off this past week just outside of Gainesville, Florida. This event is unique in comparison to many other amateur MX events, as it is split up between 2 race tracks: the first half of the week begins on a supercross-style track and the latter half of the event on a motocross track. Forty-five SX and forty-five MX classes - with over 4,000 combined racer entries - made for an action-packed week at Gatorback. Racers competing in both SX and MX disciplines not only earn individual titles but also a combined and the crowned overall “Olympiad” champion.

Chilean rising star, Hardy Munoz, was on fire all week in the Pro Sport and A classes, taking home 2 MX titles in the 250cc class, and a total of 6 of 8 overall finishes on the podium! Also hailing from Chile, Benjamin Garib, was in attendance in the SuperMini classes, landing himself on the podium a few times as well. It's safe to say, the country of Chile was well represented this week.

Jordan Jarvis was back in action in Florida after very recently coming back from injury. Jordan came back strong winning both Women’s SX and MX classes, earning herself the overall Olympiad award.

Gage Linville was aboard his 2-stroke, taking home the 125cc and Schoolboy 1 Championships on the MX side. He put in work outgunned against the 250cc four-strokes during the week.

A new addition to the Fox family, Seth Dennis, had a stellar week at Mini-O in the 65cc classes with 3 gold medals and 3 silvers. In the end, the “lil ripper” would earn the illustrious Bronze Boot Award: an award given at the end of the week to the youth rider with the most consistent accumulation of points!

The 85cc pilot, Casey Cochran, was having a great week with all 4 SX classes on the podium. Unfortunately, Casey went down in MX practice and was unable to continue.

Michigan’s, John Grewe, was back to his winning ways, as usual, claiming the Vet Masters Award at the end of the week. He had an almost untarnished record, winning 6 titles between the 40+, 45+, 50+, and earning a silver medal in the 35+.

John’s Kawasaki counterpart, Earl May, cleaned up the vet racing week with a 55+ title.

This event is more than just a major race in the middle of Florida, it’s the gathering of hundreds of families over the Thanksgiving holiday. The quality family time and bonds created between friends and families, new and old, within our racing community is truly amazing. Below is a list of Fox team champions, and podium finishes
