KEN ROCZEN DOMINATES UNADILLA

Saturday, 8/10/19 marked the 50th anniversary of the Unadilla MX National. The race weekend kicked off with legends of our sport completing a lap on historic bikes. Little did fans know; they were in for a historic performance from Ken Roczen. He dominated every second that he was on the track, set the fastest free practice time, clocked the fastest qualifying time by 3 seconds, and won both motos in convincing fashion.

Adam Cianciarulo would also put in a strong performance. Winning Moto 1 and finishing second in Moto 2 helped him maintain his points lead as the series heads into the final two rounds.

HIGH POINT 250 CLASS RECAP

In 250 Moto 1, Justin Cooper got the holeshot with Adam Cianciarulo in second. As the two battled for the lead, Cooper made a mistake in the rollers and went down. Adam would take the lead and attempt to gap the field. However, he would come under pressure from championship rival Dylan Ferrandis for the majority of Moto 1. Adam would eventually pull out a gap over the last three laps and take the win.

Dylan Ferrandis got the holeshot in the 250 Moto 2 while Adam sat just inside the top 5. Adam would make early passes on Alex Martin and Justin Cooper to work his way into second. Moto 2 quickly became a two-man race as Ferrandis and Cianciarulo matched best lap times and pulled away from the field. Adam put in several pass attempts but couldn't make them stick. Dylan would take the win with Adam a close second. The title contenders would tie on points, leaving Adam with a 28-point lead in the championship as the teams head into the last two rounds of the season.

HIGH POINT 450 CLASS RECAP

In 450 Moto 1, Justin Bogle got out to the early lead, Eli Tomac following close behind in second. Tomac would pass Bogle, taking the lead early. Shortly later, Ken would pass Bogle as well and immediately put pressure on Tomac.

Ken would get by Tomac with a dramatic pass as they came through the mechanic's section. He would go on to a dominant moto 1 win.

Ken came from behind in the 450 Moto 2. Starting just inside the top 10, with Marvin Musquin getting the holeshot, Ken made multiple passes on the first lap and closed in on Musquin. Marvin would make a mistake and open the door for Ken to take the lead. Once out front, Ken would open up a large gap and take another dominant win to cap the perfect day.
