ADAM CIANCIARULO BACK ON TOP AT SOUTHWICK

The sixth round of the Lucas Oil Motocross Championship took place this past weekend at the famed MX338 circuit in Southwick, Massachusetts. It would prove to be a rebound race for Adam Cianciarulo and a tough weekend for Ken Roczen. Adam would leave with the win and extend his points lead while Ken showed flashes of speed early in both motos but would ultimately finish ninth on the day.

SOUTHWICK 250 CLASS RECAP

Adam Cianciarulo #92

In the 250 Moto 1, Adam Cianciraulo got out to a great start - running second just behind championship rival Justin Cooper. He wasted little time making a pass for the lead. Once out front, Adam put on a sand track riding clinic. He effortlessly carried momentum around the flowing MX338 circuit, gapping the field and winning the moto by ten seconds at the checkered flag. This set him up nicely for a run at the overall win.

Moto scores of 1-2 would give Adam the overall on the day and see him extend his point lead to 23 over Justin Cooper who finished third.

SOUTHWICK 450 CLASS RECAP

Ken Roczen #94

Ken Roczen had a tough weekend at Southwick. He is still recovering from suffering heat exhaustion at WW Ranch the previous weekend. Ken got out to a good start in the 450 Moto 1 and was running in the top five early. However, he would eventually fade and finish twelfth. The second moto saw much of the same from Ken. Another good start but he would fade and finish tenth. The 12-10 moto finishes would put him ninth overall on the day.
